Hi there,

I am doing my assignment for the practices cluster for a research proposal and plan. My research statement or question is: Is it viable to use non toxic cleaning materials in the centre and if so what are the environmental and cost benefits of doing so?

Firstly is this acceptable as a research statement? Secondly i am totally stuck on what research methods i could use. its not really somehting that i can do questionnaires on. I would have to just research costs and perhaps at a push staff knowledge on the green cleaning aspect, but i can't get my head around an actual research method for that. Can you help guide me in the right direction please?

I think your research statement is good! I think it's important for centres to "go green" as there are great benefits in doing so!

Toxic chemicals that may be used in cleaning products do harm to the environment as well as to people causing asthma, chemical reactions and allergies. Using non toxic chemicals will eliminate all the toxins within the centre making the centre more environmentally friendly...

As for research methods, you could actually look at the cleaning products a centre uses at the moment, the ingredients/chemicals it contains and the effect it has on the environment... Even something like ajax or gumption... They may contain harmful chemicals...
