Implenting Effective Communicative Chanels

Hello!
I am coming towards the end of my studies (yay!) but still have a few more questions to go and this is one of them that I am just brain dead on:
"how can a supervisor implement effective communication channels and collaborative work practice within their team"
would the answer be something like this?
the supervisor can find which communication method/s work best for the team (though trial and error or by asking the team which communication method/s work best for them) and then continue to use these method/s when communicating to the team.
Through these communication channels supervisor and staff van share and work on ideas and work practices that will be beneficial for the growing of the center.
