In your work role the Code of Ethics could help you for this reason: It gives you an understanding of the guidelines issued by the organisation to the employees and management to help them conduct their actions in accordance with its values and ethical standards. The code gives you as a professional, an understanding that children learn within your workplace, their family and community groups, which brings a large range of experiences and identities to their learning. Within your work role you will form relationships with the children in your care, parents, fellow employees, community groups, and students. Your focus as an employee would respect these relationships which would in turn give you the respect of others and make you a valuable employee.
