Hi there,
Wondering if I could get some help with this activity. The teacher has said I haven't answered it correctly so I'm a little confused :( thanks!
- Question: Using examples provided in Activity 1.3, and the hierarchy of risk control discussed later in the chapter, explain how you would control each risk?

-Answer: By ensuring you check play spaces and areas at all times and mostly on a daily basis in the morning.
Assess each situation and play setting that you set up using the risk guide.
Keeping your back to the wall and being in range of all children and knowing where staff are.

(teacher response: but what specific strategies will you use for each of these scenarios?)

If you could add the risks, it would help so I can see where you need to add more information...

I also have this for you:

Hierarchy Of Control

I am not sure what are the hazards but in my question I had to state which hierarchy of control I should use to eliminate hazard and what was the reporting procedure.

Sorry for the late reply..thanks for the responses,

the risks are :

1. noticeboard pins fallen on the floor
2. children throwing toys across floor
3. wet paint on the floor in the craft area

I tried asking it again, and I came up with this for example, for no.1: noticeboard pins

Possible risk - no first aid needed - low consequence

not sure if im on the right path?

For the no 1 I would say that I would use the first of the hierarchy of control Eliminate the pins from the floor. Also I would report it straight away to my supervisor and write this down on the risk assessment form so we can come back to the that form and make sure that this hazard doesn't happen again. Also having this included on the risk assessment gives our colleagues opportunity to know that there was a new hazard in a classroom .

You have to do this for the all examples but the hierarchy of control can be different depends of the hazard.
