I'm a little bit stuck with this
Question 1
Read the scenario and answer the questions.
Team Meeting
Ava, Certificate III trainee, attends the monthly team meetings which are held out of hours. A regular agenda item at the team meeting is WHS. Sometimes the Director or the WHS staff representative will add WHS items to the agenda, otherwise the team are asked if they have any WHS to raise. At tonight’s meeting the following WHS matters were discussed:
• After completing an emergency evacuation practice an educator in the baby room reported that one of the wheels on the cot used for evacuation of babies had fallen off during the evacuation. It was suggested that the cot be added to the monthly safety checklist to ensure it is in good repair at all times. The WHS staff representative was asked to undertake a risk assessment in relation to this matter.
• Jarred, a room leader expressed concern about the state of the outdoor storage shed in the preschool play area. He said that it is poorly organised and is a danger to anyone who enters. He offered to source ideas for better storage options such as large crates on wheels and tubs with handles and lids. He will report his progress at the next meeting. Jarred asked for a volunteer to assist him. The Director suggested Ava for this task.
At the conclusion of the meeting Ava commented that she hadn’t given any of the WHS issues raised a single thought and had learnt a great deal simply by listening to the discussion.
a. What could be added to the Emergency Evacuation and Lock-Down Procedures as a result of the meeting?
