Differences Of Culture and Beliefs Which May Create Tension

Hello
I am having trouble with question:
002 FOSTERING SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
QUESTION 1 (B)
Each culture and community will have a set of values and beliefs about what is socially and culturally acceptable behaviour for members of that community. This has led to tensions as the beliefs and values of one culture collide with that of another.
Explain how the following differences in cultural values and beliefs may create tensions between the parent and educator in early childhood settings.
Western cultures tend to promote early independence of self-help skills
Children have all of their needs met and are not expected to develop self-help skills until middle childhood.
Possible tensions:
In western cultures infants are usually placed in a room on their own soon after birth.
Children sleep in the same bed with their parents for several years.
Possible tensions:
Individual achievement is valued, reinforced and rewarded. Singling out children for praise is regarded as inappropriate as it is thought to make the child conceited and can have a negative impact on the child’s relationship within the group.
I have searched the learners guide and also the web and come up with information on this site:
https://books.google.com.au/books?id=FA ... &q&f=false
But no suggestions of tensions:
Could you please help?
Warm Regards
Lillian
