An important aspect of children’s ‘belonging, being and becoming’ involves them learning how
their behaviours and actions affect themselves and others and developing the skills to regulate
these independently. Educators and co-ordinators assist children to develop these skills when
they are focused on developing positive and respectful strategies for guiding children’s behaviour,
and mediate and assist children to negotiate their rights in relation to the rights of others.
