Organizational structure and treatment. Framework that involves understanding. Recognizing and responding, to effects of all types of trauma.
Trauma Informed Care is an organizational structure and treatment framework. It involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma. Trauma Informed Care also emphasizes physical, psychological and emotional safety for both consumers and providers, and helps survivors rebuild a sense of control and empowerment
is grounded in and directed by a thorough understanding of the neurological, biological, psychological and social effects of trauma and interpersonal violence and the prevalence of these experiences in persons who receive mental health services.

Not knowing what the general unit is about.
Is Trauma -informed care relating to trauma a child has experienced and how it has affected their development, therefore having to meet development needs which can be physical, cognitive, emotional etc?
Is it collaborating with professional agencies to meet the needs of the child for eg they may be under the care of a psychologist?
Is it about planning for the child in your room?

Also being informed of potential behaviour or present development that has resulted from trauma.

http://www.samhsa.gov/nctic Go to this website and see if the information is relevant to the unit and question. ( it is a usa site) Whether this clarifies the direction you're going.

Wouldn't they have brought this up in the unit or do you have to research it? Since you have posted this on here I'm assuming it is related to working with children in care.
