I'm not sure if I'm understanding the questions properly or if I'm on the right track.

1. Read the case study, then answer the questions that follow.
Case study
Ronald, an educator, has recently noticed some bruising and burns on Caleb. Ronald suspects that Caleb is being abused by his mother, so he decides to document his observations.
Child’s name: Caleb
Date: 17.06.14
Recorded by: Ronald McDougall
Caleb fell over in the mud today and he needed to change his clothing. I helped him to do this providing pants and a clean shirt. When Caleb removed the dirty clothing I could see that he had a bruise in the shape of a hand on his lower back. Right above this bruise was a small blister that looked like a burn. I asked Caleb what had happened and he said it was an accident, then he turned away and wouldn’t talk any more.

Ronald makes the following recording the next day.
Child’s name: Caleb
Date: 18.06.14
Recorded by: Ronald McDougall
This morning I heard Caleb’s mum telling another parent that she goes out to the pub most nights and that she is bored being home alone with Caleb. Today she also yelled at Caleb as he didn’t remember whether they had turned the lights off before they came this morning.

Questions
a) What information should Ronald include that is specific to the circumstances?
b) Has Ronald included all the information needed to give a holistic picture of the situation?
Is the reporting non-judgmental?
Use a brief paragraph to explain your answers.
Also include how Ronald can confirm what his legal obligations are.

My attempt at an answer:
a) Ronald should include in the documentation that he suspects the mother may be abusing him as this is important information to put in a report.

b) Ronald has included all the information needed to give a holistic picture of the situation as he has documented everything that he needs to make the report. I believe Ronald's reporting isn't judgemental as he has just been stating facts hasn't brought his emotions or opinions into the report. Ronald can check his legal obligations by going over the service policy with his supervisor.
