Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCPR509A
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
Explain breifly why you would monitor behaviour that is out of character for an individual child, interpret this behaviour, and respond appropriately.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Not exactly sure where to start, a child acting out doesn't necessarily mean something bad, so do I go worse case scenario in that it might be an abuse case?

A child acting out doesn't necessarily mean that it is the cause of abuse. It could be anything from changing family circumstances that are happening at home, child feeling unwell, having an off day, an undiagnosed medical condition, waning to gain more attention etc. That's why if we notice some unusual behavior occurring from a child it's important to monitor it, discuss it with the child's parents to try and figure out why this behavior is happening.

Hope this helps,
