3. Imagine you observed something that concerned you in relation to this child’s development.
a. How would you share these concerns sensitively with a colleague?
b. How would you share concerns with the parent/guardian?
c. How would you approach collecting enough observations to share with a specialist (e.g. length of time and detail)

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
a. How would you share these concerns sensitively with a colleague? I would collect obervations over a period of time and then request to talk to my collegue in private about the child, to ask them if they have any concerns about this child and to voice my own concerns and provide my observations as a reference.

Description and Message:
I've answered a, but I'm not too sure on b and c. I've never yet had to do it nor be around to learn from it. This is in regards to a child I have observed over a two week period of time.

b. How would you share concerns with the parent/guardian?

Similar to what you have mentioned in question a. When discussing your concerns with the parent you need to do it in an open and honest way. When you talk to the parent, you shouldn't jump to the conclusion and blurt out that their is something wrong with the child. You can give examples of you have witnessed and discuss whether or not the parent has notice anything at home that they may be concerned about. You should also tell the parent how you will approach this situation and what your next steps will be in dealing with the concern at hand.

c. How would you approach collecting enough observations to share with a specialist (e.g. length of time and detail)

I think observations should be taken over a period of a month. It should include different types of observation methods (time sample, anecdotal, developmental checklists etc) in order to give the specialist a detail overview of what you have observed.
