How does specialist professional knowledge influence the practitioners perception of children ? ( 2 marks)
This is my answer so far, what do you think? and what do you believe i should add into it?
Specialist professional knowledge influences the practitioner’s perception of the children by allowing the practitioner to have a knowledge of the child’s development, which can institute the stages of development the child should be at. An understanding towards the current learning and development theories which will affect the practices which they'll apply. This professional knowledge will need to be learnt to the practitioners in allowing a specialized knowledge of development and learning theory to be able to apply it to the children’s actions. The practitioner is to give a holistic perspective which allows them to draw on what they already know about the child, the child’s family and social cultural context (K Kearns 2010).
