Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCFC508A – Foster children’s aesthetic and creative development
Your Assignment Type: Case Scenario
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
2. If a set of blocks are placed on a mat which has clear boundaries, most children will maintain the block play within the confines of the mat.
a) Why does this happen?

b) How can you use this information when setting up play areas for groups of children?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
a) Why does this happen?
A lot of the time childcare classrooms have designated areas for home corner, construction, art and craft, etc. As children spend more time at the centre and get into a care routine, they learn that “this area is for blocks and that area is for drawing” so they tend to keep the toys from one area together.

b)
I don't really know how to answer b) and I feel like I've half answered it in the first question. Is there anything I can add to this?
