Q1) what criteria should be used for selecting developmentally appropriate language and literature experiences for children?
Q2) what criteria should be used for selecting displays and pictures to stimulate language?

Hello everyone. can someone please help me with these questions. I have to finish my diploma by September and I stuck with these questions. I would appreciate your help. please. thank you

You need to look at what stage the child is at. Would their be any use reading books with lots of words and long stories to a one year old? Would you read a book meant for a one year old to Kindy children?
With displays what do you think of before you choose a poster or something to put up on the wall? If you want to stimulate children to talk would you put up things that are of no interest to them? would you put up things that are dull and don't catch their attention?

Do some reading on how to stimulate language and developmentally appropriate language experiences.

Totally agree with fefe, the stages of the children will dictate your choices. Having said that, repetitive text, easy rhymes and textured books make for very enjoyable reading experiences for children. In relation to posters, placing good them at N child friendly height, eye catching and colourful will attract attention. Also ones that you can use to ask open ended questions - 'what is the boy doing good in this picture?' etc
