Hi my question is in regards to supporting children to build relationships
the question is to identify how you would assist each of the following children to interact and participate in play
- child from English as second language
- shy child
- new child to center
I neeed to comment on the effects of culture of the child and the value placed in play.

Im really stuck and just need some ideas to see if im on the right track thanks

How you can assist the children can include:

- Choosing a buddy to take the new child around the centre.
- Introduce new child to other children in the room.
- Begin playing with the shy child and slowly ask children to play as well.
- Play small and large group games.

What other ideas do you have?

HI
You could find out the childs interests (maybe from enrolment info or talking to parents) and make sure these are included as activities. Other children will join in with this & the child will have something they know about to help them feel settled which will in turn help with them interacting & playing with others.
