Hi I was wondering if somebody might be able to help me out with my assessment as I'm a bit stuck.

Scenario - Sierra has just moved to the area. She has previously lived in a small town. Your community is 'the big city' for sierra and she is understandably nervous. Sierra's aunt has asked her to house sit for her while she travels for the next two years. Sierra jumped at the opportunity to move here with her two year old daughter Molly. Child care had been organised by her aunt before she arrived. As a new centre in a new housing estate you are all in the 'getting to know you' stage. Sierra strikes you as being particularly shy, with no job and no outside interests and you wonder how Sierra will find people with whom to relate.

DESCRIBE IN 2-3 pages how you might support Sierra and molly in this new community.

Outline the strategies you would use for each of the following:

.Make this family feel welcome

Answer: I would make the family feel welcomed by ??? I'm a little lost at this bit. Could any body give me any advice or help it would very much be appreciated

Maybe you could setup a morning/afternoon tea with the parents to introduce the educators and parents to each other. Or you can have a parent/educator evening (without the kids)... Introduce Sierra to other families in the group during drop off/pick up. Encourage Sierra to go on play dates over the weekend with Molly etc.

Hope this helps!
