Posted: Tue Jan 05, 2016 11:44 am
Hi all !
Just after some feedback whether I am on the right track with my answers before I show them to my trainer this week.
The subject is Community engagement - Assessment Task 3
3.1 Reflect on your role as an educator and list the members of the local community you could engage or form relationships with.
- families involved in community garden across from service
- council workers frequently in the park next to service
-local general practitioners
- local fire department/police department
- local shop owners
3.2 Suggest 2 ways you could build partnerships with the members of the community you have listed above.
-regular communication with members of community - face to face meetings, phone calls etc
-attend meetings held by community members in community garden
- invite local GP, fire person, police person, shop owner to the service
3.3 Refer to EYLF, LO 2, and reflect on how promoting a sense of community within the service benefits children.
promoting a positive sense of community within ECEC services promotes the wellbeing of children, families and staff
It also contributes to protecting against mental health difficulties in children by creating a positive climate, connectedness, inclusivity, positive relationships and collaboration in ECEC services.
Assessment Task 4
Referring to NQS 6.3 , reflect on your role as an educator and suggest how you can provide information about community services and resources to families and parents.
-become familiar with local community services
-include a small table at reception or front of the service, organised with information brouchers and booklets relevant to local community services.
Any criticisms are greatly appreciated!
Thank you
