The assessment says:
You are required to develop a resource box that demonstrates how you as an educator can implement and reflect children's understanding and respect for the natural environment.
The requirements are to create the resource box which covers the following three age groups:
-Babies (0-2 years)
-Toddlers (2-3 years)
-Preschoolers (3-5 years)
When considering what natural and recycled materials you may include ensure that it is age appropriate, safe, can be set up in an aesthetic manner and lead to further investigation and discovery.
Once you have gathered range of materials for each age group answer the following questions.
1. Explain how you are going to incorporate the materials into learning experiences and projects?
2. Referring to the EYLF and applying developmental knowledge, write down the possible learning outcomes that you would like to promote as the children engage and explore the natural or recycled material?
3. List what other resources you could incorporate that can be used as an additional resource to extend on children understanding and learning?
4. As an educator how will you offer the opportunities to teach and model respect, care and appreciation of the natural and recycled material?
5. What safety concerns do you need to consider when the children explore and discover the natural or recycled materials?
6. How do these objects offer children the chance to explore, experiment and take risks in the discovery of the material? ( toddlers and preschoolers)
7. As an educator how could these natural and recycled materials provide opportunities for children to discuss the natural environment and interdependence between people, plants, animals and land? (toddlers & preschoolers)
8. As an educator how can this natural or recycled material offer the opportunities for extension of learning and lead to projects through intentional teaching practices? (preschoolers)

What I've done so far?
Babies- Rattles made with plastic bottles and recycled materials inside, sensory books of recycled materials, recycled mesh bag with cellophane. (not sure what else)
Toddlers- Blocks of wood, Empty cartons/containers, pots & pans
Preschoolers- natural materials such as bark, sticks, leaves, recycled materials such as cardboard boxes, plastic bottles/containers, paper plates & paper bags.

quesitons
1. I've got answers for preschoolers but don't know for toddlers and babes.
2. EYLF- outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world, children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment, outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners- all outcomes in this one.
3. for all ages, use posters, books, music
5. Safety concerns: so far i have- things like sticks poking children in the eye or scratching children, other materials may break and hurt children, possible choking hazards...

And all the other ones I'm having a lot of trouble with.

Although that did help a little bit. I am still having trouble with the questions
Such as offering opportunities to teach and model respect, care and appreciation to the natural and recycled materials?
