Need help with this Question:
Describe 3 discussions you have had with children that explore interdependence between people, plants, animals and the land.

I need some ideas on what I can discuses with the children on this as the children I work with have very limed English vocabulary

any ideas would be great

Some ideas include:

1. Learning to turn lights off when not needed especially at rest time and before going out to play at 3.00pm.

2.Have a small recycle bin that is clearly labelled with photos of what to put in that bin. Educators teach children to use these bins responsibly. Children put all scrap paper from their artwork into these bins and sharing in discussions as to ‘why’ paper is going in a separate bin.

3. Water conservation is an important aspect of sustainable practices. Children learn this by pouring only as much water as is needed into their cup, then pouring the remainder onto our natural growing grass, or our growing plants.

4. Children are learning to take care of our Centre animals. Children know that our vegetable food scraps left over from the kitchen goes to our compost, chooks or worm farm. And that the scraps form an important part of making ‘mulch’ or ‘food’ for our growing vegetable garden.
