CHCECE018 - Scenario: Recycled Items and Making Puppets
Posted: Sun Jul 26, 2015 2:24 am
Hi everyone, I am studying my new Unit. I have answered most of the questions, but got stuck with some questions.
Scenario 1
A child brings to the centre a bag of fabric pieces, a bag of margarine containers and a bag of egg cartons
1) Describe how you might role-model creativity by incorporating the fabric, containers and cartons in the current play space.
I do not understand the question. Does it ask me how to use the fabric, containers and cartons together? Does it ask me how to use the, but not necessarily together?
2) How could Carly use the materials within a routine to demonstrate creativity?
I do not know how to answer this question.
Scenario 2
You make puppets with children. You want them to be involved at all points, from beginning to performing.
1) Describe at least four activities you could offer the children. Include information about when they would be offered and what current activities they might replace.
4 activities I will offer the children are:
- Think about what kind of materials they can use to make puppets
- Think about how to make a puppet theatre and how to implement the idea together
- Offer an assortment of collage materials for them to decorate their puppet.
- Think about how to perform the puppet.
However, I do not understand the second part of the question: "Include information about when they would be offered and what current activities they might replace."
2) For each of the four activities described in question 1, list two questions that you could ask to encourage children to reflect on the process of their activity
- Think about what kind of materials they can use to make puppets
For this activity, I may ask the question “Why did you use this kind of materials to make your puppets?". I have not idea for the second question
3) Identify one problem or issue that may arise during each of the four activities. For each problem or issue, explain how you would help the children resolve it.
- Think about how to make a puppet theatre and how to implement the idea together
For this activity, the problem I can identify is Children argue about how to decorate the puppet theatre. I will help the children by giving each child a chance to talk about his idea/ opinion on how to decorate the puppet theatre and I will help the children to pick the most possible idea by voting.
- Think about how to perform the puppet.
For this activity, the problem I can identify is Children fight with puppets and don’t know how to use them. I will help the children by teaching them how to use the puppet and give them time to practice in pairs before the theatre is officially open.
Please help me with the answers. I appreciate your help. Thanks a lot.
Veronica
