Hi
I'm stuck on this case study
Case study 6
Malcolm is four years old and has an Indigenous background. His parents speak some Dharug, one of the Indigenous languages spoken in the Sydney region, and Malcolm speaks it a little, but is shy about doing so in front of others.
Q Describe what you would do to encourage Malcolm to explore his language heritage, as well as allowing the other children in the service to explore language, text, images and print that are unfamiliar to them.
Also, explain how your strategies would promote a sense of belonging and connectedness for Malcolm and his family.
This is what I have so far for the answer? But I'm really stuck?
A- I would encourage Malcolm to use his heritage language when he was ready I wouldn't push him to do this or make him feel uncomfortable I would suggest a few things to him if would be willing to try with me, building a relationship with Malcolm would be the first step to get him to not feel so shy around me. Asking Malcolm if he would like to do some projects with me so we can share with the class later when he is feeling more confident and settled into the class.
ok this is what I have so far?
Help please!!
