CHCECE009 - Refusing To Share Resources

Hi there.
I need a support for question to be answered.

"As an Educator what would you say and do if an infant, a toddler and a pre-schooler refused to give up a resource they had been playing with for a long period of time to another child who wants this resource. Relate your answer to a learning outcome."

I answered it so far like this...

"I'll be a role model for them. I'll make a group of children and use that resource for sharing. I'll give turn to every kid and also saying every time," My turn, your turn." It will make the kids understand that every toy is for everybody, they have to share. When a kid share the thing, I'll encourage the attitude by saying, "Well done, did you see how happy he is now". Children will have shared play experiences. I'll make sharing fun for them. I'll organise cooperative games for them, so that they will have to play together towards a common goal."

It covers the EYLF outcome 1, Children have a strong sense of identity.
• Children learn to interact in relation to others with care, empathy and respect.

My trainer wanted it to be resubmit with 3 examples for every child group, i.e., infant, toddler and pre schooler. If anyone can can help me to answer this question, I'll be so grateful.

Thank you.

You could always use an alternative toy or resource, where a child likes one particular thing and wont share, (its also good to know before hand what each child's interests are, especially toddlers and preschoolers), saying how about trying this one, in doing so explaining how important we all have turns and there might be something else you like to play with, even say how much you really like the one yourself is holding and would they like to have a play with it, it shows your willing to share and it can be a role model for you to show this sharing. Infants where they are amused by one certain thing, try another that might be shinier or musical get them familiar with more than one, keep them amused playing with each item as they go, so they see there are more than one object they can be fascinated by, always good to make infants smile with new things :) ....just couple of my suggestions and ideas if that's the kind of thing your looking for :)
