Hi Lorina
I still find difficult at doing the work placement task to Identify the positive techniques and strategies that are used to guide behavior that you have observed on work placement. I did an observation on this, but I don't know whether or not I am on the right track. My observation was:

James was sitting down on the floor by himself and was crying. Some children were standing around the table with the educator making scones. Another educator approached James and got down on James's level and asked him would you like to have a turn at making scones, but before you need to go and wash your hands, otherwise you can't take part at making scones.
The educator was calm when she approached James. Because of the calmness of the educator, James co-operated when he was given instruction what to do.

Yes, you're on the right track with your response!

The educator also gave James a choice that if he wanted a turn he had to wash his hands. That's using positive reinforcement!
