Hi I am really stuck on how to word this question

a) How would you accommodate this parent’s request, while at the same time respecting the wishes of the other families who attend the service? Remember, it is important not to make any child feel excluded.

Answer:
Educators need to respect and take into account the values and lifestyles of families. Educators need to work in partnerships with families and respect their views and decisions. No child at the service should ever feel excluded. I would work around the parents request and that their child could participate for the fun of the activity as I would feel he would feel excluded if he was not able to participate. I would however respect the parents view that their child should not eat any of the chocolate but he can still be engaged in the activity. You can explain that the chocolate is a 'sometimes food' that is only given on special occasions and that the service is still working in relation to promoting healthy eating practices among the children.

I think that's a good response!

You could also add something like since they don't want their child to eat the chocolate you can work out an alternative that the parents will be happy with their child eating for that special occasion...
