CHCECE004 - Providing Hot Meals During Summer

Hi Here is the question and my attempted answer. please could someone tell me if im on the right track?

Q:The early childhood education and care service where you work provides morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea to all children that attend each day. A number of parents have complained about the fact that the service is not providing a hot meal every day. The parents are indicating that they would like a hot meal served each day, even during summer.

Describe how you would respond to the parents’ complaints?

A: Explain that it does not state with in the regulations that a hot meal is to be provided every day. However, as a number of parents have concern over this I would look into providing hot meals three times a week during the warmer months and four times a week during the cooler months as this allows for a wider range of foods to be served to the children. This would be done with the budget in mind and if a rise in fees was needed a vote would be taken first from the parents before any changes were made.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Thank you

Yes, that's a good response!

You could also send a menu suggestion form home for parents to fill out and ask them what types of meals they would like to see on the menu....

Hope this helps,
