CHCECE001 - Scenario: Creating Policies For Inclusive Practices

Can someone tell me how I start to answer this question
Scenario: You have just started at a new service, where you notice there are families from various cultures and backgrounds, including some Indigenous families, who attend your service. When looking at the services policies and procedures you notice that there are no service policies that represent inclusive practices. You have already noticed it is clear that staff and other families have little or no knowledge about the local Indigenous population and their culture.
1.List some policies you could include into the services policies and procedures manual.
2.How would you go about implementing these policies?
3.List some strategies of how you could provide knowledge of the local Indigenous population to families and other staff

So, you will need to include policies on:

- inclusion
- equity
- cultural diversity etc.

To implement these, in each policy you will need to provide strategies on how you will support the families and the educators within these policies. Just have a search on Google and you will be able to find some samples from childcare centres. This will help you get a better understanding on what required.

For the question on providing knowledge on the local indigenous population, the following may help:

Including Aboriginal Australia

Hope this helps,
