CHCECE001 - Consulting With Appropriate Persons Of ATSI Community

Hi, Im working on the following task:

Student will document what consultation processes take place when consulting with appropriate persons is required to access local knowledge of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. Refer to service policies

I have copied and pasted it exactly as stated in the assignment and i know it is written badly but the service that i work at doesn't have any policies in relation to this so i spoke to my tutor from tafe who recommended i Google one from another service and use it. So far i haven't had any luck finding any appropriate policies and procedures in relation to this task. Does anyone have one i could use or could point me in the right direction to find one on-line?

Otherwise all i can come up with is code of conduct or collaborative partnerships with families and communities.

Thanks

I have had a look as well and I cant find one service policy that has anything to do with your question... There is a heap of information on workinng with ATSI communities and families etc. but nothing about having a service policy in place.

However, I did find the following information:

Working With Aboriginal People

Section 2 (from page 30), talks about consulting with Aboriginal communities etc. and I think you should be able to use some of the information from here, fr your question...

Hope this helps,

Thank you Lorina,

I also found a lot of useful information however no service policy. I have emailed my tutor for advice but wont hear anything now until during the week. I thought perhaps i could refer to the code of conduct in relation to the community and also refer to some information i have gathered but i will hold off on answering the task until i hear from my tutor. Its such a broad question that could have so much information that it is difficult to know what to do.

I appreciate the suggested article and will have a read of it now and add it to my other research.

Thanks again
Kelly
