Connsider this statement " Family members and friends do not effectively assist clients to identify or express their concerns. Instead they tend escalate emotive situations in a way which does not benefit the client or the organization which is trying to deliver an appropriate service? Do you agree??
What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?

I'm going to give you an example of the statement so you can understand it better:
Le's just say your sister takes her 3 year old "Gemma" (your niece) to day care 3 days a week. Your sister has recently complained to you that Gemma said that there is a boy there that tends to tease her and pushes her around when she goes near him. Gemma said that she tells her teacher and all the teacher says is "tell him to stop and he will leave you alone". Your sister (Gemma's mum) has said that she spoke to Gemma's teacher about it and the teacher assured her that they know of the situation and are dealing with it. However, Gemma is still complaining about it.
As a family member you would probably say something like "just go early to pick up Gemma and talk to the boy yourself. He is a bully and is bullying Gemma. Obviously the teachers aren't doing anything about it themselves. He should leave Gemma alone and you can tell him that yourself. You should also let his parents know what's going on. They probably let him do this at home now he is picking on poor Gemma"...
Basically being a family or friend makes a situation worse because your loved one is directly involved so typically the advise given is in the best interest of the loved one rather than what may be happening at the centre...

Hi so im thinking that the family member could make it worse by telling her to deal with herself instead of going through the right channel through the chilscare service?

Yes that's right or the family members don't know the full story of exactly what's happening... Maybe Gemma pushed his younger sister over in the toddler room and the boy is acting that way because of what Gemma did to his sister. Gemma maybe didn't tell the full story and the teacher only became recently aware of this since speaking to the boy themselves...
