CHCCS400C - Scenario: Mother Doesn't Want Children Released To Father

I need some advice on an answer I have given for a case study for my Diploma.

A mother asks you that her children not be released in to the care of their father. You review the information provided upon enrolment and see that a formal parenting plan has been provided to the service which list both parents as eligible carers. What would you do and why?

My answer so far:

I would organise a meeting or agree on a time that is appropriate to speak with the mother. Before organising to speak formally with the mother I would inform my manager of the situation. While speaking to the mother I would inform her of that our policy states if both parents are listed as eligible carers and there is not a court order in place that I am obligated to release the children in to the care of their father if he presents himself to collect them. If the mother persists with her question and still does not want us to release the children in to the father's care I would suggest she come and speak with my manager, I would also ask if she would like a copy of the policy.

Am I on the right track ???
Please help :)

Yes, that's right!

Unless there is a court order we can't refuse a particular parent when picking up their child. The mother would have to present a court order if she doesn't want their father to pick them up...
