a) Choose 2 statements from the code of ethics and comment on the importance of each statement in your role as an educator.
Work to ensure children and families with additional needs can exercise their rights
--In child care centre,devolpoment respectful and collaborative relationships with families is very important, as we work together to create a positive environment for children, if we work to ensure children and families with additional needs can help development child wellbeing,
Develop positive relationships based on mutual trust and open communication
--to make and build positive relationships with the family, this will enable you to gain the trust and respect from parents, Parents will feel comfortable in talking to you about any issues and concerns they may have about their child and accept your professional opinion. Another important factor to remember when building relationships with families is that they will actively participate in any events or experiences in your centre and become more involved in the programming and planning.
b) Discuss the strategies you would employ to address areas of ethical concern for each of these statements.
Provide resources and facilities to promote different cultures, for example: if some family English is the second language,if possiboly,we will provide a interpreter, promote children in different countries are allowed to wear their own country custom ,children in different countries can hang their national flags, organize the children to know the map and know the location of their country.
Create a friendly atmosphere; allow family members freely join the activity in child care centre. Have an open communication like newsletters, personalized notes, child communication books, questionnaires, surveys, suggestion boxes etc
c) How do you ensure you are working within an ethical framework within your job role as an educator.
As an educator, I will abide the policy and procedure of the child care centre, creating and maintaining a safe healthy environment and space, development of children’s learning, participation, active ability
