Hello friends,
I need some help with this task. I'm seeking any related helpful resources to this task. I recently started working in Childcare and I haven't came across these type of situations yet. So, any advices that help me getting start and finish this task will be very much appreciated.
Task: You are the coordinator of a long day care program in a community not for profit service where funds for extra curricula experiences are often tight. You have successfully applied for a number of small grants to enable children to participate in a range of excursions to different sporting, cultural, scientific and geographically interesting events and locations. Some of the money may be used for incursions. Children in your care range in ages from 0-5 years.
1. Describe:
- who you would involve in selecting the most appropriate events for the children
- the steps you would take to establish travel policies and procedures and how these would be communicated to others
- the people you would involve in this process
- the safety procedures you believe must be covered
- the techniques you will use to ensure everyone involved is aware of the guidelines, limits and responsibilities
- how you will structure the excursions and organise responsibilities of staff and volunteers.
2. Outline the steps you would take to ensure travel practices adhere to service policies and regulations and the factors you need to consider. How will these practices be monitored and evaluated?
3. During an excursion to the local swimming centre, one of your staff notices that Alice is hesitant to join in the swimming. Once she joins the others, one of your staff observes that she has nasty bruises on her upper legs. When they look more closely, they notice that there are marks on her arms and upper body. On arrival back at the centre they talk to you about their concerns that Alice is being physically abused but they don't know what to do.
- What measures would you have previously taken to educate staff on their responsibilities in regards to suspected abuse?
- How would you support this staff member?
- How would you meet your ethical, moral and legal obligations?
4. Describe how you will monitor the care practices of your caregivers, both in and out of the service, and the techniques you would use to ensure that these practices are effective and adhere to the organisation's care policies. How will you involve your staff in their review?
Thanks alot in advance!!!
