CHC50113 - Supporting Child Initiated Play and Learning

Hi all
I'm having trouble with this question and was hoping that someone would be able to point me in the right way.
the question is
How can you support child - initiated play and learning?

Any help would be great.

Child-initiated activities may be instigated when the child brings something to the setting…this might lead to the provision of resources, stories and pictures to support this interest. Whatever children bring is an indication of their current interest and should be supported.”

Fundamentally important to enabling child-initiated, free-flow opportunities, is ensuring that there is an enabling environment. Provision within the space should allow for child initiated opportunities to take place. It is the role of the adult to ensure that resources are accessible, well-organised, and of high quality. There should be a culture within the setting of independence and choice.

Child-initiated activity relies on ensuring a balance of open-ended resources. Research shows that an emphasis on natural resources and neutral colours within the environment and a general move away from plastic and primary colours supports learning.
