Having windows or glassed based things around the room in appropriate places and safe for the children.
AS/NZS 2208: 1996 Safety glazing materials in buildings
Covers test to make sure the glazing materials are safe to have in the centre.
AS.NZS ISO 8124.1: 2010 Safety of toys – Part 1: Safety aspects related to
mechanical and physical properties
Ensure the toy is age appropriate
AS/NZS ISO 8124.2: 2009 Safety of toys – Flammability
Test methods on toys that have the potential of being hazardous
AS 4685 (Set): 2004 Playground equipment safety set
Making sure equipment are age appropriate
AS/NZS 4468.1: 1997 Playground equipment – General safety
requirements and test methods
Applies to all general equipment but excludes toys.
AS 2555: 1982 Supervised adventure playgrounds
Supervise playgrounds that children could potentially hurt themselves on if not playing safe
AS/NZS 1841.1: 2007 Portable fire extinguishers – General
Requirements
In case of an emergency have a portable fire extinguisher where is easy to access to all
AS 2444: 2001 Portable fire extinguishers and fire blankets
Having these placed in each room easy to access and up from children reach in case of an emergency
