Hi all, We have a speech pathologist who is employed privately by a family who attends our centre numerous days a week, can they be counted as a part of ratio with the educators or not?
Example if the child in which they are employed to work with would like to go outside to play can the speech pathologist go out with the the child without an educator???

Cheers

No I don’t think so because the ratio requirement is for the centre and when the child is at the centre then you will need to abide by Regualations. Also, the speech pathologist is employed by the family not the centre, which should not be counted towards ratios... they are not an employee for your centre only for the one child and if something happens to the child at the centre while being supervised by the speech pathologist you will still be responsible... so it’s better to stay within the ratio requirements...
