Intentional process art

Hi I want to make a Xmas picture for the babies so have a Xmas tree template but my goal was to let them paint it in their own way so not focusing on the actual picture as it’s to be framed for parents
Is this still process as the babies are 8 months old I’m struggling with outcomes for this age

I think allowing the child to draw freely on the Christmas tree image is still a great example of process art, because the focus is on the experience rather than the final product. I've tried something similar with children of the same age, having them make handprints with watercolors, and the parents really appreciated seeing their children's unique creativity.
