Hi,
I'm new to the industry and I am expected to organise a graduation ceremony for the Kinder kids. Any suggestions/ to do list of what I need to do and how long it might be expected to be?
Additional info:
I have a really small cohort of kids and some don't attend frequently.

Hi,
Graduation ceremonies shouldn't be too long maybe half hr or so. The Preschool teachers can do a speech on the year and any funny anecdotes that happened with the preschool children through the year as well. You can do a slide show of photos of the preschool children during special events, with their friends, with teachers that can also be shown during the ceremony. You can also invite the preschool children to talk about what they enjoyed doing at Kindy etc. or you can create a video of the Kindy children talking about what they enjoyed etc. and play that too.
Then the preschool children can sing graduation songs/do a play, give them their graduation certificates and that's pretty much it. It's good to do it as part of morning tea and invite the parents along as well.

Hi! For organizing a kindergarten graduation ceremony, consider the following:
1. Plan the Event:
- Set a date and time.
- Choose a venue (even the classroom works).
- Create a schedule (30-45 minutes is ideal for young kids).
2. Ceremony Activities:
- Welcome speech.
- Kids' performances (songs, poems, etc.).
- Certificate presentation.
3. Decorations & Setup:
- Simple, child-friendly decorations.
- Seating arrangements.
4. Invitations:
- Send invites to parents and guardians.
5. Refreshments:
- Light snacks and drinks.
6. Photography:
- Arrange for someone to take photos.
With a small group, you can keep things simple and personal. Start planning at least a few weeks in advance. Good luck!
