Hey Educators,
What are you takes on the missconception and comments made that Childcare is Just a baby sitting service.
I have had this comment made to me personally that all we do is babysit kids and play with them, your just babysitters.

what are some of your opinions on this?, how does it make you feel? and what would you do to try and change the communities view on this?

Thanks Crew.

Hi!

Yes, I've heard this over and over again! A lot of people in our community don't understand exactly what it is that we do. If we can only show the National Regulations and Laws that we are required to follow, if they can see the amount of documentation and planning that we have to do on a daily basis as well as checklists and forms that we are required to fill in daily! It's just non-stop work! All you can do is shrug it off and smile and tell them how important Educators are in a child's life and what we do to support children.

Hello.

Childcare services are not the same as babysitting. The first one comes with so many rules, laws and regulations. People misunderstand as in both cases the baby is getting looked after. But Childcare is the act of providing care to and supervising the child, in the absence of his parents/guardians. They have to perform so many duties including lots of paperwork at a time. Child care services help responsible for all the developmental learning and activities of the children. The childcare service not only takes care of the physical well-being but also takes care mental, psychological, and emotional well-being, and development of the child. But it happens that people do not understand the differences. Do not go too personal in this matter. Just go ahead and enjoy your work.

Best wishes

Thanks
Nandita

I'm not a babysitter, but I fully support your opinion! It is a difficult profession that requires skills, responsibility, stress tolerance, and confidence.

There is a common misconception that childcare is just a babysitting service, but this is not true. While babysitting is a type of childcare, it is typically only for short periods of time and may not involve as much responsibility or skill as other forms of childcare.

Childcare, on the other hand, involves providing for the physical, emotional, and educational needs of children over a longer period of time. This can include things like preparing meals, helping with homework, providing transportation, and engaging in developmental activities with the children.

Professional childcare providers, such as nannies, daycare providers, and au pairs, often have specialized training and education in child development and safety. They may also be licensed or certified by their state or country to ensure that they meet certain standards of care.

Overall, childcare is much more than just babysitting. It involves providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children to grow and develop. Visit: https://www.mabababycare.com
