Getting Toddlers To Sleep

I have a question, I've been trying to find the answer to.
When toddlers are put down for a nap on their mats, some staff lay next to them on the floor until they fall asleep. Is this an issue? Or is it something that is ok to do?

In my opinion I don't think it's very professional for staff to lay down next to the children, it's inappropriate to be laying on the floor next to a child as they sleep.

I've had to do this for certain children. One child still co-slept so I laid next to their stretcher bed to try and re create that so they felt comfortable enough to fall asleep.

To me is not a good habit but it works for a certain child nothing wrong with it, if it's help the child to sleep.
