Hi! I just moved to Australia, and want to begin my career in Childcare here. I have a Bachelor of Education but have no experience. Can you advise me what should I do first?

Did you get your Bachelor of Education from Australia or overseas? If you did get your qualification from overseas you will need to get it assessed by ACECQA to make sure that it is recognised.

I think the best way to start is to work casually so you can get an idea of what is required, how you are to interact with educators and children etc, how to set up experiences etc.

Thanks for your reply, Lorina! I'm from the US. I'll take your advice. :)

Did you gain any experience working with children whilst completing your bachelor of education? Make sure to add these to your resume and apply for every centre in your area that you can. This is how I got a job even with minimal experience working with children of actual childcare age (I had more experience with 6-9 year olds) :)
