Am I already Qualified??

I'm a little confused.

I have a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and am currently doing a bridging program at TAFE to become an ECT. I had a look on ACECQA's website and did a qualification checker and it said I was qualified to teach as an ECT.

Be interesting to know if I have just wasted thousands of dollars and 240hours of work experience (free labour) Eeeeekkkk

P.S. I absolutely love this site and forum. I visit multiple times a day

Are you referring to the qualifications checker with the few questions? That's so confusing and I really don't understand how those questions can determine if you're qualified or not. Don't worry doing the bridging course is a good idea and I don't think it's a waste! Early childhood and primary is different so the bridging course will help you to understand this...

You should check out the following:

Thank you Lorina for replying.

I rang ACECQA today as I have a job interview on Monday.

The official ruling was. With my degree, college of teachers registration plus the bridging course I will become a qualified ECT.

This is being phased out at the end of 2019. After the end of 2019 it will have to be a degree.
