What should Susan do to resolve this issue so she doesn’t have to leave her job at Sparkling Stars?
Guidance: Write a detailed description of the process she would follow. Include the documents she could access for guidance and who she should speak to about the situation.
Susan Pearson has been happily working as the Kindy assistant at Sparkling Stars Childcare Centre for several years.
A few months ago the group leader she had been working with was moved to a different room and Tina Housden, a new member of staff, became group leader in the Kindy room. Initially, Susan found Tina a little difficult to work with but put it down to her being new at the centre. Tina is often rude to Susan and has recently started expecting her to do part of the group leader’s role as well as completing her own workload. Susan is finding it increasingly difficult to work with Tina and has even started thinking about finding a new job.
My answer is:
When Susan was facing an employment relationship conflict in the childcare centre where she works, she needs to check and understand the work place /centre policies and procedures for guidance, like for example, checking the Equal Employment Opportunity , Workplace Behaviour and Workplace Harassment policies.
Also she should revisit her job descriptions and make sure that all her duities are correctly executed effeciently and in a timely manner, in addition, she has to ensure she is following "The Code of Ethics " In relation to dealing with colleagues.
Susan also, has to speak with her nominated supervisor and tell her about all her concerns regarding the new group leader "Tina Housdon" .
She needs to explain in details how Tina start acting in a rude way to her, and how she is asking her to do more work over her the stated duties in her job description.
Susan should ask her nominated supervisor for guidance and support in order to resolve this issue.
