Question:
- outline atleast 5 strategies to ensure safe provision of food to children

1.centre's have a food allergy policy inorder to limit the risk associated with severe food allergy reactions or food sensitivities.Childcare staff/cook should be aware of child food allergies and food intolerance.
2. Educators/staff are discussing food safety with children to increase awareness and assist in developing safe practices such as discouraging children from sharing drink bottles or cups, ensuring that children don't share lunches to minimise risk of food allergies, teaching children to wash their hands before touching and eating food, after using toilet, after blowing their nose and after playing with animals.
3. Educators/staff should be familiar with hygience practices such as washing hands, wearing gloves when handling foods, and familiar with nutritious principles for children and food safety.
4.Regular training of all cooks and staff in safe food storage, preparation and handling of food.
5. Childcare centre's should have healthy eating policies and menu plans available
6. Informing families of availability of cold storage facilities at the service to ensure parents/guardians make suitable food choices when supplying food for their own child.
