Yes, you're on the right track with your response, however you need to add more information to your answer. Why do you need to take time to get to know the infant or toddler? Why is it important to respond to their individual routines, cues etc?

This could be:

- to build trust with the infant/toddler.

- maintain relationships.

- encourage a sense of belonging in the childcare environment etc.
