the scenario

you are a qualified educator working in the 3-4 year old room and recently the children have been enjoying a CD, which contains a compilation of popular music, including the Beatles song 'yellow submarine" several children have asked for this song to be repeated so they can dance to the song. a parent contacts you to complain about the song and that it is inappropriate and compromises his strict christian values. he refer to a past interview in which john Lennon commented that the Beatles would be bigger than god one day.

questions?
1.is the a legal or ethical dilemma? please explain
2. detail an equitable solution that respects this family's cultural belief while still providing an inclusive environment for all children?
3. how would you maintain confidentiality of this parents complaint
4. what do you do if your own values and beliefs are in opposition to the parent's values and belief?
