Morning Activity Time
It is nearly morning tea time in the 2 – 3 year old room of a children’s service. One Educator is conversing with a parent, and another Educator is setting up the morning tea
The third Educator is supervising and assisting a small group of children to pack away the blocks. She regularly calls across the room to various groups of children, directing them to pack away however none of the children are following her directions.
Some children are running around the room, two children are crying and there is music playing in the background.
List two environmental factors that are negatively contributing to children’s behaviour in this scenario?
Noise
Disorganisation

QUESTION 3 (B)

List two developmental skills that children need to be able to manage transitions and routines effectively?
Fine motor skills
Cognitive ability

QUESTION 3 (C)

Make two suggestions for how the Educators could have better planned this routine experience to minimise the impact on children’s behaviour?
Role play examples of appropriate behaviour to teach children how to succeed in social interactions.
Watch closely for positive behaviours and tell children when their language and behaviour is appropriate. Make positive comments more often than negative ones.

Is it correct?

Yes, you're on the right track. Rather than have 1 educator doing morning tea and one handling the children. Both educators should encourage children to pack away so it can be done efficiently. Also, the educator setting up morning tea could be helped by a few of the children rather than doing it by herself leaving te educator alone to mane this.
