Scenario: Billy - Severe Allergies To Nuts
Posted: Thu Feb 16, 2017 3:23 pm
Hi all,
I am completing a case study on anaphylaxis for Cert III. Billy is a 4 year old boy with severe allergies to nuts (peanuts) and dairy-based foods.
I am preparing snacks for billy and what follows are the food labels of available snacks
Snack A: Pop Tarts or Snack B: Mixed Fruit
Which of the two snack options is most appropriate for billy, in terms of his allergies? Do any of the ingredients jump out at you in terms of allergens - I am wondering if the Soybean and Palm Oil would exacerbate his peanut allergies??
I have included graphic labels and also typed up the ingredients if the labels are too hard to see.
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Regards,
Jen
