Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHIC301E Interact Effectively with Children
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
Discuss how safety factors and legal requirements that might constrain options can be discussed with children..

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
There are going to be certain safety factors and legal requirements that are going to effect some activities that the children are going to want to try. There are things like staff ratios that will effect what the children are able to do, as well as any relevant legal requirements. Staff should conduct risk assessments before any activity is undertaken by the children...

Description and Message:
Hi Everyone,

I am stuck on a question.. As above 'Discuss how safety factors and legal requirements that might constrain options can be discussed with children'

I have come up with a very simple and not very detailed answer and unfortunately its just not enough so if you can help me expand this that would be great :)

Thank you in advance for any help given :)

Hi Emily, well in my short knowledge as I am doing cert III yet, I guess the question is more related to the way you are going to advise childre about the safety of a certain kind of activity, because the module is interact effectively with children. So think how you would explain why somethign is dangerous or do not promote their safety - like wearing sunscreen/hats or emergency evacuation procedure etc, think how would you explain that if they do not do what is required by law you might get in legal problems. Can be through books or art work, posters etc.

Hope this be helpful.

Yes that's great. I hadn't really thought about the explanation of the consequences for the children. Thanks heaps :)
