Hi, I need a little clarification as to weather my response to these 2 questions are correct or not, I think part a is fine but not sure about what they are after as a response to part b, am I on the right track or not.

4. As a childcare worker, it is important to act as a role model in implementing healthy eating and nutrition practices during meal times.
a) Explain why it is important to interact with children during mealtimes.
b) Describe four (4) ways you can ensure that furniture and utensils are suitable to encourage children to be positively involved in, and enjoy mealtimes.

My answer so far.

a) Why is it important to interact with children during meal times?
By interacting with children at mealtimes it allows you to make sure they are eating their own food and not sharing another child’s food, which could be hazardous if the child has allergies, and by making correct food choices yourself it shows them that you are also eating healthy foods, it brings an awareness of healthy eating that can also be discussed around the table, (E.G) I might have spinage on my sandwich, they might have lettuce, I would encourage them that should try spinage instead of lettuce because it is nicer, and then add a comical remark like “Popeye ate spinage to grow big and strong”, and have a giggle, Interaction with children at meal times is very important in encouraging growth and awareness of healthy eating.

part (B)

b1) Have table and chairs that suit children, Low child’s table and chairs, and join them at their level.
b2) Plastic plates.
b3) Plastic knives and forks.
b4) Plastic cups.

Am I on the right track!
Kind regards OldChook

a) Yes, you're on the right track with your response! You could also include:
Talking with children is important at all times of the day and meal times are a good time for social conversations between children, as well as for you to talk with children and to ‘catch up’ on what is happening in their lives.

Also - I noticed a typo in your response - spinage is spelt spinach...

b) Yes, you have to make sure that the utensils are child sized and bowls/plates/ cups are sturdy from spillage from minor bumps and are unbreakable from minor falls.... I probably wouldn't add knives... Just spoons or forks...

Hope this helps!

Thank-you so much lorina,
I actually did notice the spelling error in spinach but forgot to correct it, cause I had interruptions, But thank-you for bringing it to my attention, I hate spelling errors, I have tweaked my responses to the questions and added a little more as well,

You are amazing I appreciate your help and guidance
Kind regards OldChook.
