Based upon the knowledge that you have acquired within the cluster, you are required to demonstrate professional viewpoints on the following.
1) Reflect upon how the following will influence the way that you work as childrens services educator.
A) childrens right.
As adult also have their rights, children as the vulnerable member of society has also their rights. As an educator knowing childrens right will provide me guidance to act in the best interest of children. As an educator it is our responsibility to ensure that childrens right are respected at all times and their welfare are protected in the service. As one of the rights of children under the UN convention on the rights of the child, children have the right to express themselves as an educator we should know how to listen to children, for listening to them will make them feel that we are always intrested in what their saying. As an educator we had to acknowledge that their opinions really matter.As an educator we should let them feel that they are supported so they can freely express themselves.As one of their right is not to be discriminated, we should treat them fairly.A child who has disability should not be deprived their right to join physical activities so long that children expresses willingness to join.
2. Duty of care.
Duty of care will influence me as an educator by ensuring that children are safe under my care. It is my duty of care to ensure that all areas acessible to children in the service are safe and free from hazards. It will influenced me on properly planning the programs or activities children will engaged in to ensure that it is safe and appropriate to their age. As an educator i will follow the set of procedures such as reporting broken equipment that might put children into risk. I will observe children while their playing and anticipate potential danger as well. It will influence me on deciding with the arrangement of childrens environment to suppprt active and safe play.Duty of care will direct me to always have children within my sight.Duty of care will make me as an educator to be always vigilant if children depart from the service and aware of the people who are going to pick them up in the service.
