Alternative ways to gather information from families to enhance planning for children include

1-having a diary for families to make notes in about their child
2-using communication book for exchange of information between families and educators
3-using email to exchange information
4-having frequent short meetings with families for example allocation frequent 10 minutes time slots at the beginning or end of the day tospeak with families
5-arranging for short teleconferences with families
6-organizing frequent social events where educators and families can have informal conversations.
